More Access Leads to More Reading

A Journey in Reading Picture the World

In order to improve the reading skills of reluctant and struggling readers all 5th graders at Oxford will take part in a year long interdisciplinary program that uses literature art music and dance to explore and learn about the cultures of West Africa, Italy, Hungary and Austria. Funds will be used to pay for books, performances, Cleveland Museum of Art programs and art supplies.

Reading with Read

English teacher Donna Feldman will use Read a biweekly magazine to help high school students who have significant reading skill deficiencies develop critical reading skills. Read is written for middle school students and offers a variety of reading materials and activities. The grant will purchase 18 subscriptions that will be used with five different classes.

Gearity Leveled Book Room
