Freshman biology students will help teach ecology lessons this spring to Fairfax students once a week this spring. Funds will pay for books that the older students will read to Fairfax students. The books will be donated to Fairfax School.

Make Time For Poetry Expansion

Experienced teachers will lead poetry clubs at the three schools during lunch or after school for all fourth and fifth grade students. Students will write and read their poetry and participate in a multi school Poetry Slam in April.

The CH-UH Virtual Summit

 

Middle and high school African-American Male students will watch a video of about topics of concern to young men. After each session, adult men in each school will lead discussions with the students. Presenters will include school staff and outside experts. Banners in each school will promote the workshops.

The schools and the library will be partners on activities about two books: The Journey that Saved Curious George: The True Wartime Escape of Margaret and H.A. Rey and You Remind Me of You. Activities include: author visits, scrapbooking, bike ride and Curious George character visit.
