Heights High seniors are encouraged to participate in a self-designed senior project as the way to complete their high school education. The project is a way to pursue a strong interest and to begin the transition to life after high school.
Ms. Bodie, who plans to pursue art at the Pratt Institute in the fall, developed a project that let her grow as an artist and contribute to the everyday environment for residents of Judson Retirement Community.
She created six paintings which are based on masterpieces by VanGogh, Degas, Matisse and others, will soon brighten up the bland tub rooms at Judson.
A $250 Reaching Heights Community Connection Grant funded the art supplies so that Katie could pursue this project which allowed her to grow as an artists and volunteer, to interact with many Judson residents and staff, and to contribute to the community.
