What Works in Schools will be the focus for a public forum to be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 at 7:00 pm at Wiley Middle School , 2181 Miramar Boulevard in University Heights . The public is invited to this free community forum which features Robert Marzano, Senior Scholar, Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning, Aurora , Colorado .
Dr. Marzano's presentation with focus on 12 key factors that have been shown by research to impact student achievement. According to Cleveland Heights-University Heights Superintendent Deborah Delisle, “Robert Marzano is nationally acclaimed for his work on implementing powerful changes and educational innovations to engage all students in higher levels of learning. Robert Marzano should be on everyone's radar screen for his critical insights.”
Reaching Heights, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Schools Foundation is holding the forum in conjunction with the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District, the Greater Cleveland Education Development Center at Cleveland State University , and the First Ring Leadership Academy . The forum will kick off a two day seminar for Northeast Ohio educators and for participants in the First Ring Leadership Academy , a professional development consortium that trains administrators for the public schools serving the first ring suburbs of Cleveland .
