While the Heights schools have an open-door policy and welcome community visitors, it's not always convenient for our residents to observe the exciting teaching and learning taking place in classrooms across the district. The Neighborhood Newsletters help residents know more by taking the schools to them.
Since 1996-97 Reaching Heights has worked with countless community volunteers to write the Boulevard Banter, Canterbury Tales, Coventry Currents, Fairfax Neighborhood News, Gearity Globe, Noble Neighborhood News, Oxford Outlook and Roxboro Neighborhood News. These newsletters describe the daily life in each of the district's eight elementary schools. Each publication also includes high school and middle school news.Hundreds of student and community volunteers hand deliver the publications so that each household in the elementary school attendance area can learn about their neighborhood school.
If you would like to receive a copy of any of the Neighborhood Newsletters produced by Reaching Heights please contact us.
